Plant Profiles

Plant Profiles

In addition to providing seeds, the Seed Library will have a plant profile on each seed, providing the tips and steps necessary to ensure a successful growing plant. These are being developed over time. You can click the sections below to see the Plant Profiles available. These are also available in print in the Resource binder by the Seed Library.

Seed Categories:

Wildflower/Landscaping Seeds

These are self reproducing, low cost and maintenance plants that are great additions for your Florida Friendly Landscape. (i.e. Sunshine Mimosa, Swamp Sunflower, Spanish Needle)

Herb Seeds

Sometimes associated with perennials, sometimes with annual growth, these are plants above ground that produce smaller seeds on a grassy stem. (i.e. Cilantro, Basil, Rosemary, Thyme)

Edible Seeds

Mainly associated with fruits and vegetables, these plants produce leaves, roots, tubers, stems, seeds, buds, fruits, and flowers that are safe for human consumption. (i.e. Peppers, Tomatoes, Carrots)
