Get Involved

The Seed Library is maintained by a small group of librarians with help from library work scholars and passionate students and we always have room to grow. Here are some ways you can get involved:

Education

• Help us develop Plant Profiles for the seeds in the collection

• Expert gardener? You can contribute instructional videos or online guides on topics related to gardening and seed saving to share with the community

Seed Saving

• If you have a green thumb and would like to donate seeds to the garden, plan to save seeds after your next harvest and donate them back to the library. Being a Seed Steward will help us ensure that the collection is sustainable and includes locally adapted varieties suitable to growing in Zone 10A.

We are also open to partnering on campus events so feel free to reach out to us if you have an idea.
